How it works/Data & updates

Data Sources & Update Schedule

One database behind everything

This site is also a full Dota 2 reference — heroes, items, players, teams, tournaments. That same database is what feeds the model. When my system runs a Tier 2 match, it's reading the same ratings, head to head and results you see. The wiki you browse and the engine that makes the picks pull from the exact same place.

Sources

PandaScoreMatch schedule, series results, teams and tournamentsSchedule every 6 hours, results every 30 minutes — live events only

Everything else — picks, takes, aftermaths, Series MVPs, rosters, transfers, team divisions and bios — is done by me.

What updates when

  • Live tournaments — pages refresh every 5 minutes so scores stay current.
  • ELO ratings — rebuilt from scratch after every new result, and once more every night.
  • Homepage and lists — roughly every 15 minutes.
  • Team, player, hero and item pages — refreshed when their data changes (a result, a stats refresh, an edit), served from cache the rest of the time so they load fast.
  • Finished tournaments — effectively frozen; nothing there changes any more.

For developers and AI

Picks are available in machine-readable form: an RSS feed of the latest picks and results, and a JSON feed of upcoming picks with ELO probabilities. New Tier 1 picks and results also go out on Telegram. Open ranking data is on the data & embed page.
