
European Pro League Season 40
Overview
European Pro League Season 40 takes place online from September 12–25, featuring twelve teams from Europe and the CIS region competing for a $20,000 prize pool. Organized by EPL and played on the Europe West server, the event is a Tier 3 Dota 2 tournament on the regional calendar.
Format
Group Stage (September 12–20): Twelve teams are divided into two single round-robin groups of six. All matches are played as Bo3 series. A 2–0 result awards the winner 3 points; a 2–1 result awards the winner 2 points and the loser 1 point. The top two teams from each group advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs, the 3rd- and 4th-placed teams advance to the lower bracket, and the remaining teams are eliminated.
Playoffs (September 21–25): The eight qualified teams enter a double-elimination bracket. All matches are Bo3 except the Grand Final, which is Bo5.
