Lou

Lou “lou” Zhen was born on August 18, 2001, in China. He is a position-one carry currently playing for Yakult Brothers and one of the strongest Chinese core players to emerge during the post-Ame generation.

Lou is not the loudest personality in Chinese Dota, but when his team gives him a playable game, he normally farms fast enough to become the main problem. His career already includes a Top 4 at The International and a Tier 1 LAN championship. Not bad for a player who only entered professional competition in late 2021.

Early Life

Very little verified information is available about Lou’s childhood or how he first discovered Dota 2. His professional journey began with Ybb Gaming, where he quickly attracted attention as a mechanically gifted carry capable of competing against established Chinese cores.

Xtreme Gaming signed him at the beginning of 2022. The move gave Lou his first real experience inside a major organization, although his true breakthrough would arrive one year later.

Career

Lou joined Azure Ray in May 2023 alongside Somnus, Chalice, fy, and Tianming. The roster was built around experienced Chinese legends, but Lou had the most demanding job: farm, stay alive, and eventually carry games against the strongest teams in the world.

And honestly? He delivered.

Azure Ray finished fourth at The International 2023, immediately making Lou one of the most successful TI debutants of that season. Two months later, the rebuilt Azure Ray roster won ESL One Kuala Lumpur by reverse-sweeping Gaimin Gladiators from 0–2 down in the Grand Final. That victory remains the defining championship of Lou’s career.

After Azure Ray, Lou returned to Xtreme Gaming and later represented Vici Gaming and Yakult Brothers.Tearlaments. His results became less consistent, but his individual level never completely disappeared. He joined Yakult Brothers in June 2026 and helped the roster reach the final stage of China’s TI qualifier, although they lost the decisive series to Vici Gaming.

Lou is the obvious win condition for Yakult Brothers.

With Emo playing mid and Kaka controlling the early game, Lou’s job is simple: survive the lane, absorb the map, and become the strongest hero on the server. The roster reached second place at Games of the Future 2026, showing that this team can absolutely beat strong regional and international opposition—even if consistency remains a problem.

If Yakult Brothers wants to return to Tier 1 Dota, Lou has to be the player carrying them there.

Playstyle

Lou is a traditional farming carry, but he is not limited to one type of hero. His most-played professional choices include Ursa, Luna, Troll Warlord, Terrorblade, Morphling, Faceless Void, and Naga Siren.

He is at his best on heroes that reward clean farming patterns and decisive late-game execution. When Lou gets ahead, he rarely wastes time: Roshan, towers, another item, and suddenly the opponent has no map left.

His weakness is that he can occasionally become too dependent on his team creating a stable first twenty minutes. When the map collapses early, Lou does not always produce the same miracle recovery as the absolute best carries in the world. Give him space, though, and he will punish you.
