Brewmaster
Deep in the Wailing Mountains, in a valley beneath the Ruined City, the ancient Order of the Oyo has for centuries practiced its rites of holy reverie, communing with the spirit realm in grand festivals of drink. Born to a mother's flesh by a Celestial father, the youth known as Mangix was the first to grow up with the talents of both lineages. He trained with the greatest aesthetes of the Order, eventually earning, through diligent drunkenness, the right to challenge for the title of Brewmaster, that appellation most honored among the contemplative malt-brewing sect.

As much drinking competition as mortal combat, Mangix for nine days drank and fought the elder master. For nine nights they stumbled and whirled, chugged and struck, until at last the elder warrior collapsed into a drunken stupor, and a new Brewmaster was named. Now the new, young Brewmaster calls upon the strength of his Oyo forebears to speed his staff. When using magic, it is to his spirit ancestors that he turns. Like all Brewmasters before him, he was sent out from his people with a single mission. He wanders the land, striving toward enlightenment through drink, searching for the answer to the ancient spiritual schism. Hoping to think the single thought that will unite the spirit and physical planes again.

When to Pick Brewmaster?
Pick Brewmaster when your team needs a teamfight monster that can completely flip the game in one ultimate. He is absolutely disgusting right now, and I don't understand why more people aren't talking about him. Primal Split in the right fight is basically a 5v8 — your three pandas come out and suddenly the enemy has no idea what to focus, what to run from, or how to position.
He thrives in lineups that already have some lockdown, because when you add the Earth panda's Hurl Boulder and the Storm panda's Cyclone on top of that, the enemy team is just standing there getting destroyed. He is also fantastic against right-click-heavy lineups because Drunken Haze wrecks their attack speed and accuracy completely.
Avoid picking him into heavy silence lineups—Silencer and Skywrath make his whole kit feel useless, and if you can't cast Primal Split at the right moment, you are just a slow offlaner with no real threat. Also feels bad to burst-heavy teams that can kill you before you even get the ultimate off.
Tips & common mistakes
- Stop saving Primal Split for the "perfect moment" that never comes — if a fight breaks out and you hesitate for 2 seconds, you've already missed the window.
- Drunken Haze is not just a slow—the miss chance is absolutely brutal against right-click carries. Use it the moment a fight starts, not after you've already taken half their hits.
- People build Brewmaster like a tank and forget that he needs cooldown reduction desperately—Boots of Bearing and Octarine Core are not luxury items; they are how you get your ult back faster.
- Don't run into the backline alone thinking Primal Split will save you—you still need to be in a position where your team can follow up; otherwise, you're just three pandas dying alone.
- The Fire panda's Permanent Immolation does more damage than people think—keep it in fights as long as possible instead of throwing it away chasing a fleeing hero.
- Level Thunder Clap early in the lane—that slow and damage is your best tool to win the offlane, not something you leave at level one for ten minutes.
- Watch out for Black Hole, Ravage, or any big AOE stun—if you get caught before Primal Split goes off, you are just dead with no comeback button.
Summary
Brewmaster is one of those heroes that completely takes over games when played correctly, and right now he is genuinely strong — people just aren't picking him enough. Get your ultimate off at the right moment, let your pandas do the chaos work, and watch the enemy team fall apart trying to deal with three different threats at once. He is not a hard hero to understand — he is a hard hero to respect. And if the enemy doesn't respect him?
They will lose the teamfight, simple as that.
