Biography
Vladislav "laise" Lais (born October 15, 2000) is a Ukrainian professional Dota 2 offlaner currently playing for IC x Insanity. At 25 years old, s1mple is one of the more interesting Ukrainian talents in the Eastern European scene—a player who went from grinding regional mixes to Natus Vincere in the space of two years, without anyone really seeing it coming.
Career
Laise was born in Mykolaiv and started taking Dota 2 seriously in 2016. The first three years were pure grind—Puzzle, Caspium Clan, small Ukrainian leagues, and zero international attention. The name back then was "destroyed." That tells you the vibe.
The breakthrough came in February 2022 when NAVI signed him out of nowhere to replace GeneRaL in the offlane. Solo explained it simply: they wanted an offlaner who creates space; Lais fit the concept in trial games, and they kept him. For a player with no tier-1 experience, walking straight into the NAVI jersey is not a normal career step. He did a joint interview with [No[o]ne](/players/no-o-ne) during the ESL One Malaysia 2022 qualifier period, which, at the time, felt like the start of something bigger. It didn't last. The roads diverged, as Solo would say.
After NAVI came 9Pandas, One Move, and smaller Eastern European stacks. 9Pandas disbanded their Dota roster after a 15th place finish at DreamLeague Season 25. One Move suspended operations in August 2025 due to financial difficulties. He landed at IC x Insanity, became one of the founding members of the current lineup, and is now heading to EWC 2026 as the team's offlaner.
Playstyle and Reputation
Mars is his signature hero—83 professional matches, KDA of 4.2. That's a player who plays arena control, holds the front line, and wins team fights through positioning rather than individual aggression. Pangolier, Tidehunter, Centaur — the same pattern throughout. Disciplined offlane that creates space without needing to be the center of attention.
Fun Facts
His old alias was "destroyed." He then joined Natus Vincere. Rebranding works.
He is from Mykolaiv, one of the Ukrainian cities most heavily affected by the war. The fact that he kept competing professionally through all of it says something about the person, not just the player.
