Born on January 8, 2000, in Russia, Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin grew up in a time when Dota 2 was becoming a cultural staple in the CIS region. Like many of his peers, he started playing Dota in his teens and quickly developed a reputation in the pub scene for his disciplined playstyle and strategic understanding of the offlane role.

His consistent performances in high-MMR matchmaking earned him a spot in the competitive scene by his late teens.

DM began gaining real attention around 2018–2019, playing for lesser-known teams like:

Underdogs

Vega Squadron

Winstrike Team

HellRaisers

During this phase, he showed signs of becoming a top-tier offlaner, especially with his ability to play macro-heavy heroes like Beastmaster and Brewmaster, and teamfight initiators like Axe and Centaur.

VP.Prodigy & Virtus.pro

In 2020, DM joined VP.Prodigy, Virtus.pro’s development squad. His performances were so strong that he was promoted to the main Virtus.pro roster later that year. This team quickly became a dominant force in Eastern Europe, regularly winning DPC matches and participating in international tournaments.

Highlights of this period include:

Winning regional DPC events

Competing at The International

Developing a reputation for his deep hero pool and calm, methodical play

Coaching & Short-Term Stints

After his OG stint, DM spent time coaching for 9Pandas, proving he had more to offer than just raw gameplay. He later returned to pro play with teams like Entity and Cloud9, showing he could still compete at the highest level.

In 2024, he reached 13,000 MMR, becoming one of the top-ranked offlaners in the world.

He also placed 5th–6th at The International 2024 with Cloud9.

Fun Facts:

In CIS community he is called “Dima Slark”, because because he played offlane (pos3) he was playing as a carry. More than that, back in the days he was playing as carry in pubs to gain MMR.

One time, a match was postponed because he didn’t want to leave a PUB game and lose MMR.
