Echo

Xu "Echo" Ziliang (born January 2, 2001) is a Chinese professional Dota 2 midlaner currently playing for Team Resilience. At 25 years old, Echo is the most meaningful story on the Team Resilience roster — a player who started his professional career in 2018, spent eight years grinding through the Chinese scene without ever making it to The International, and qualified for TI 2026 with a team that barely existed two months ago.

Career

Echo started competing around 2018 through the Chinese domestic circuit, moving through a series of development rosters before getting his first real structure at LGD Gaming in 2023 – joining as part of the rebuilt roster after the PSG era collapsed. He competed in the Clavision Dota League: Snow Ruyi events and DPC circuits, building experience in one of China's most recognisable org environments even as the org itself was going through financial turmoil. After LGD disbanded in September 2024, Echo moved to DarkHorse briefly, then Titan in October 2024 for the ESL One Bangkok qualifiers.

The Tidebound chapter came next – joining in October 2024 alongside plAnet, Shiro, Y, and Bach. Tidebound won DreamLeague Division 2 Season 2 immediately, earning a slot at DreamLeague Season 27. They made consecutive tier-1 appearances across late 2024 and 2025. Then Tidebound disbanded in December 2025, and most of the recognisable names — Shiro, Y, and Bach — moved to Vici Gaming. Echo didn't follow. Instead, he joined the Yakult Brothers/Tearlaments stack in late December 2025. That roster fell apart in March 2026 after poor qualifier performances.

Team Resilience formed in April 2026. Echo came in as the mid alongside Erika, Niu, Planet, zzq, and Coach Super. They won ESL Challenger China Season 3 x ACL 2026, qualified for EWC 2026, then took first seed in the TI 2026 China qualifier. Eight years of professional Dota. First TI. In Shanghai.

Playstyle and Reputation

Echo is a mid who has played within structured Chinese team systems his entire career — disciplined, farm-oriented, and fitting the macro framework rather than demanding the game revolve around him. In a lineup where Niu brings TI experience and Planet brings DPC history, Echo is the mid who has been in competitive Chinese Dota the longest without the biggest results to show for it. That changes in August when TI 2026 starts.

Fun Facts

Echo's qualification is the most meaningful moment for Team Resilience. Of all the experienced players on that roster — Niu with his TI podium, PlAnet with his Tidebound run — Echo's first TI was the one worth stopping to note.
