niu

Li "niu" Kongbo (born September 29, 2000) is a Chinese professional Dota 2 offlaner currently playing for Team Resilience. At 25 years old, Niu is a former PSG.LGD player who reached the top 3 at The International 2023 and is now heading to TI 2026 with a brand new team formed just two months ago.

Career

Niu started competing around 2021, previously known as "b a b", grinding through the Chinese domestic scene before PSG.LGD signed him in 2023. LGD at the time was still one of the most prestigious Chinese organisations despite the financial difficulties brewing behind the scenes. He made the most of it — TI 2023 with LGD ended in a third-place finish, his best career result and his first TI podium at 22 years old.

After LGD's collapse in early 2024, he moved to Xtreme Gaming, debuting at BLAST Slam I with a 3rd-4th finish. What followed was rough — 10th at FISSURE PLAYGROUND, 10th at BLAST SLAM II, and 13th at DreamLeague Season 25. The roster had visible internal issues, and results reflected it across the board. He left XG in March 2025. Tidebound picked him up in October 2025 alongside Y, Shiro, and Planet. They won DreamLeague Division 2 Season 2 immediately, then Tidebound disbanded in December 2025.

Team Resilience formed in April 2026 with Niu, Erika, Echo, Planet, ZZQ, and Coach Super, qualifying for TI 2026 through the China regional qualifier in June 2026.

Playstyle and Reputation

Niu is a frontline offlaner who fits into structured Chinese macro systems. His TI 2023 run with LGD showed he could hold the position 3 role at the highest level when the team around him was functioning. At Team Resilience, he brings the most TI experience in the lineup — playing alongside Planet, who he's now shared two consecutive rosters with after Tidebound.

Fun Facts

Niu reached the top 3 at TI 2023 and then missed TI 2024 and TI 2025 entirely. Two years off the TI stage, back for TI 2026 with a team that didn't exist three months ago.

His former alias was "b a b". At some point he became 'niu' – the Chinese word for 'cow'. The upgrade is debatable.

He and Planet have now played together at Tidebound and Team Resilience across two consecutive rebuilds.
