Ari

Matthew “Ari” Walker was born on January 24, 2003, in the United Kingdom. He is a position-four support currently playing for 1w Team. Ari is known for mobility, utility spell usage, and a flexible hero pool built around active playmaking supports.

Early Career

Before Dota 2, Ari competed in Heroes of the Storm and reached first place on the European ladder in 2018. After the game’s professional league ended, he moved to Dota 2, committing to it full-time in 2021.

His Dota career began with Into The Breach in 2022 before he joined TSM. In 2023, he became the first British player to compete at a Dota 2 Major and later the first British player to appear at The International.

OG, NAVI, and Tundra Esports

Ari joined OG in November 2023 and remained part of the organization until early 2025. He later represented NAVI on loan, winning CCT Series 8 and finishing 5th–6th at PGL Wallachia Season 5.

In September 2025, he joined Tundra Esports. With the team, Ari won BLAST Slam IV and V, DreamLeague Season 28, and ESL One Birmingham 2026 before the roster transferred to 1w Team.

The International 2026

TI 2026 was Ari’s second International appearance. Iron Wing reached the playoffs after defeating GamerLegion in the elimination round but finished 7th–8th following losses to Team Spirit and BoomBoys.

Playstyle and Reputation

Ari is an active position-four player who excels on Hoodwink, Marci, Rubick, Batrider, Keeper of the Light, Shadow Shaman, and Dark Willow. His game is based on early movement, accurate spell usage, and playing in dangerous areas to create information for his team.

His ability to transition between different systems—TSM, OG, NAVI, Tundra, and 1w—has become one of his defining strengths.

Ari reached 16,000 MMR in September 2025 and 17,000 MMR in April 2026. He is also the recorded leader in professional Marci victories.
