Team Spirit

Team Spirit is a professional esports organization founded in 2015. Its modern Dota 2 legacy began in December 2020 with the acquisition of Yellow Submarine, forming the core that would develop into the most successful organization in The International’s history. Team Spirit won The International in 2021, 2023, and 2026, becoming the first organization to claim three Aegis of Champions titles.

Formation and the Yellow Submarine Roster

On December 19, 2020, Team Spirit signed Yellow Submarine’s roster of Yatoro, TORONTOTOKYO, Collapse, Miposhka, and so bad, with Silent joining as coach. Mira replaced so bad in early 2021, while Miposhka became captain.

The team finished fourth in the first Eastern European DPC season and second in the following season, earning a place at the WePlay AniMajor. After missing a direct invitation to TI 2021, Spirit qualified through the Eastern European qualifier by defeating Team Empire 3-2 in the final.

The International 2021

Team Spirit recovered from a difficult start to the group stage and entered the main event through the upper bracket. After losing to Invictus Gaming, they completed a long lower-bracket run by defeating Fnatic, OG, Virtus.pro, Invictus Gaming, and Team Secret.

In the Grand Final, Spirit defeated PSG.LGD 3-2. The victory gave the organization its first Aegis and established Yatoro, TORONTOTOKYO, Collapse, Mira, and Miposhka as one of the defining rosters of the period.

Roster Evolution and The International 2023

Team Spirit won the PGL Arlington Major in 2022 before making its first major roster change. TORONTOTOKYO left the team, and Larl joined as the new midlaner in December 2022.

The revised roster reached its strongest form during the second half of 2023. Spirit won Riyadh Masters 2023 and DreamLeague Season 21 before completing an undefeated playoff run at The International 2023. They defeated Gaimin Gladiators 3-0 in the Grand Final, becoming the second organization after OG to win TI twice.

The 2024–2026 Transition

Spirit remained competitive after its second Aegis, winning PGL Wallachia Season 1 in 2024, DreamLeague Season 25, and the Esports World Cup 2025. The support lineup subsequently changed, with rue joining the active roster and Miposhka later moving from player to coach.

In May 2026, not me joined as position four while rue moved to position five. Miposhka returned to the organization’s active staff as coach alongside MiLAN in June, completing the structure used at TI 2026.

The International 2026

Team Spirit reached TI 2026 through the European qualifier and entered the playoffs after an uneven group stage. Their main-event run included victories over Iron Wing, Team Liquid, BetBoom Team, and Team Yandex.

In the Grand Final, Spirit faced TEAM VISION, the TI identity used by PARIVISION. Spirit won the five-game series 3-2, becoming the first organization to win The International three times. Yatoro and Collapse became the first three-time TI-winning players, while Miposhka earned his third title and first as a coach.

Playstyle and Reputation

Team Spirit is associated with broad hero pools, coordinated team fights, and an ability to remain competitive in long games. The organization has retained Yatoro and Collapse as its core players since the Yellow Submarine acquisition while adjusting the other positions around them.

Team Spirit’s three TI victories came with three different support combinations.
