BLAST is back with Slam VII — the seventh edition of their $1,000,000 Tier 1 series, running from May 26 to June 7, 2026. And this time, they're bringing it to Copenhagen, with the group stage played online before the whole thing moves to BLAST Studios for the live playoff stage. Twelve teams (our usual suspects), a million dollars on the line, and a brand-new format that gives more teams a real shot at making the main event—no more getting bounced in the group stage without a fight. With this tournament landing right before EWC and The International. Teams that perform here send a massive signal heading into the most important part of the 2026 season. I'll be covering every match, breaking down every series before it happens, and updating my predictions in real time—wins and losses, all on display.

Group Stage (May 26 – May 29) — All 12 teams play a full Bo1 round-robin. Yes, Bo1—every map matters, one bad game can ruin your week, and there is zero room for error. The top 2 teams advance straight to the upper bracket semifinals at the LAN stage. 3rd and 4th place also go directly to the playoffs but into the upper bracket quarterfinals. 5th and 6th place drop to the Last Chance Qualifier at Round 2, while 7th through 10th have to fight from Round 1. The bottom two teams? They're packing their bags. Eliminated.

Last Chance Qualifier (May 30) — Single day, all matches are Bo3, no margin for error. The top 2 teams earn their ticket to the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals at the LAN. Everyone else goes home. This is the most brutal day of the tournament—one series stands between you and Copenhagen.

Playoffs (June 4 – June 7) — The LAN stage at BLAST Studios in Copenhagen. Double-elimination bracket, all matches are Bo3 except the Grand Final, which is Bo5. The six teams who made it through the group stage and LCQ meet here, along with the two teams who skipped all of that by finishing in the top 2 of the group stage. Classic format, massive stakes, and a crowd to play in front of. This is what everyone is playing for.

BetBoom Team

BetBoom Team

My take

I love LGD with all my heart, but I don't think they can win against BetBoom. The reason behind it is pretty simple: they will not let them farm for 90 minutes and fight once every 15 minutes and wait for buybacks. BetBoom will pressure LGD every second on the map. More than that, TaiLung will need to lane against Gpk (arguably the best laner in the scene), and he can't scale as he did against Aurora.

✗ Aftermath

I can't believe it xD. LGD.Gaming won, and they are heading into the grand finals against Team Yandex. Wisper should go to the ER after carrying the team in this tournament.

Team Yandex

My take

Ladies and gentlemen, we have the Grand Finals of the Blast Slam VII. We saw this match in the group stage, where LGD won. In a best-of-five, Yandex is more resilient since they have a ton of experience being there. But there is a catch: LGD are ruthless if they smell blood, meaning if Yandex lose the lanes, LGD will just push the high ground in 20 minutes. BUT, can LGD reach the high ground? I doubt that. Going with Yandex to win the Blast Slam VII.

✓ Aftermath

Team Yandex is your champion of the BLASTSLAM VII. They definitely deserved it, and I should apologize to DM personally for calling him a noob in PGL Wallachia Season 8. These guys are legit, and they play a completely different type of Dota. Congratulations to LGD.Gaming as well; keep it up, boys, with an amazing performance!

My take

Ulalalla, what a match. I am even afraid to pick a winner here. But let's think logically: We have a strong early game team (Yandex), and then we have a full 5-man continuous skirmish (BetBoom). I'm going to go with BetBoom just because we saw this match in the group stage, and it looks like their aggression somehow nullifies Yandex's early upper hand.

✗ Aftermath

Such a close game. Malady was the terminator in the last game on Treant Protector. 9k HP monster and a Divine Rapier. Overall, I think these 2 teams will reach the Grand Finals.

My take

I am not fully sold on Aurora's gameplay. They won yesterday just because they have a better macro, but it doesn't mean that LGD will wait for Aurora to come online. I see it this way: LGD stomps early and mid-game, and maybe there are some skirmishes late. In the rest, LGD is way more prepared for this BO3 than Aurora.

✓ Aftermath

This has to be the LONGEST BO3 in the BLAST SLAM. I feel like this Greedy Enchantment is unfair; every single pro player is using it, and you can't push even if you lead the game with 20k net worth. Also, TaiLung won the late game on his Zeus with 3 Divine Rapier's and 2 ults, and you're dead. The kid was working from home xD.

Team Falcons

My take

This is genuinely tricky because of the Malr1ne situation. BetBoom's biggest weapon is the laning stage—Save and Gpk will absolutely target a stand-in player who's still finding his footing. Map 1 is very likely BetBoom's just on that lane dominance alone. But here's the thing: the Falcons' late-game system—ATF, Skiter, and the overall structure—doesn't depend on one player to carry. BetBoom historically collapses when games go past 45 minutes, and Falcons will make sure they do. I'm going with Team Falcons to win.

✗ Aftermath

Nah, I think the whole Falcons core is disrupted without Malr1ne. The whole concept of Falcons is that they are playing without a hard carry, but now, they picked up Drow Ranger 2 times in a row. And it simply doesn't work.

LGD Gaming

My take

Here's why LGD wins: their dual-threat system is genuinely hard to prepare for in a full series. Yuma on Necrophos as the early push threat and TaiLung on Kez as the late-game insurance policy. In a BO3 (as we've seen against Yandex), LGD has shown that they adapt—and Liquid has a well-documented problem of repeating the same draft mistakes across maps.

✓ Aftermath

If Liquid continues to play like this, they have ZERO chances at EWC. I don't know, they got the slot because PV couldn't get the visa, but they didn't show anything against Falcons and got destroyed right now by LGD.

I will give the edge to Aurora here. I think the Falcons can't handle the pressure in the mid-game. And more than that, when it comes to 5-man Dota, Aurora is slightly better. I don't see the win condition for the Falcons even in late-game.

✓ Aftermath

Small sting from Suma1L, but I believe Falcons can do more. Even if they are out of the Blast Slam 7, they are still a threat in the EWC and TI. The fact that Aurora won with the Windranger is mind-blowing because I believe that WR is nerfed and it can't carry the team after minute 45.

Man, what a sad matchup. I believe this is really unfair for Aurora and for Yandex at the same time. And all of this happens because PV has the visa problems AGAIN! That's said, I'm going with Yandex to win here, even though they lost to Aurora in the group stage. I believe in a BO3; they can breach the 5-man Dota from Aurora early, and the edge goes to Yandex to win it.

✓ Aftermath

Saksa solo. I swear to God, every single team he's in instantly becomes a tier 1 team. The way Yandex won game 1 is something to be studied. They bought a Divine Rapier and went all in without buybacks and WON the game. Who calls that?

Liquid got the invitation because PV withdrew from the tournament. Somewhat a second chance, but unfortunately for them, they need to fight Falcons for the slot. We have the same situation as Yandex/Aurora, where Liquid won against Falcons in the group stage, but in a BO3, I'm leaning heavily on Falcons to win. You see, the H2H matchup is also in the Falcons' favor, and they always drag these games to extra late, where ATF will make a difference.

✓ Aftermath

Even without Malr1ne, the Falcons still won. Regarding Suma1L, in the first map he looked kind of off, but in the second map, I really think he made the difference in the team.

I love LGD with all my heart, but I highly doubt LGD can stop these early aggressions from Yandex. I'm going with Yandex to win.

✓ Aftermath

You know what I noticed? LGD plays a pretty similar style to Yandex. In game 2, as soon as they started to match that early aggression, they absolutely stomped Yandex. The only thing I believe they miss is that discipline on the high ground. And yeah, DM did carry 2 maps on his Doom, so credit where it's due.

Tundra's problems are deep—they're passive, afraid to engage, and Pure keeps getting put on heroes (Shadow Fiend, Windranger) that just aren't working. I can literally describe them as "playing like they're afraid to fight." Aurora, on the other hand, showed their classic pattern—a slow start early in the tournament, then never losing a game once they warm up. Nightfall on Tiny is a nightmare to deal with, and in a BO3 where Aurora gets full draft control, Tundra has no answer.

✓ Aftermath

I swear to god, this ws fella is Collapse from Southeast Asia. I don't know; he is never failing. Man, he was playing on the Axe against Drow +1 and he was top 2 networth in the game. I can tell you that this will be a dog fight. But I need to give BetBoom the edge because they are more active in the early game and then just pick off the cores in the mid-game. Xtreme relies too much on the late-game potential and Ame factor.

A very interesting match, but there are levels to this game. I believe that PARIVISION will counter any aggressive early rotations from LGD. And if it goes to late-game, LGD is doomed there.

Do you see how LGD is preparing against heavy farming teams? They put Yuma on the Necrophos, and then they put TaiLung on a scaling core (like KEZ). And if solution 1 (push them in 20 minutes) doesn't work, plan B is to rely on Kez to outcarry the opposite carry. Brillian
