Save-

Vitalie “Save-” Melnic was born on February 4, 2002, in Moldova. He is BetBoom Team’s position-two player (he changed the role after TI2026).

Save- is not merely one of the best supports in Eastern Europe. He is one of the best position-four players in the world. His mechanics, hero pool, vision understanding, and ability to control the map make him the tactical center of BetBoom.

Early Career

Save- began competing professionally in 2019 with FlyToMoon before entering the Virtus.pro system. He played for VP.Prodigy and was later promoted to the main roster, where he helped the team win EPIC League Season 2 and finish 5th–6th at TI 2021.

He also became the first Moldovan player to qualify for The International. After spending part of 2022 inactive, Save- joined BetBoom Team in December of that year.

Captaincy and BetBoom Team

Save- became one of the central voices in BetBoom’s system. The organization experimented with giving him greater leadership responsibility after TI 2025, but manager Lukawa later explained that the arrangement created unnecessary workload. Boolk returned as head coach in January 2026, allowing Save- to focus more effectively on playing and in-game leadership.

That adjustment produced results. BetBoom won PGL Wallachia Season 8, reached third place at BLAST Slam VII, finished second at EWC 2026, and entered TI as a serious contender.

The International 2026

Save- openly said that winning TI was his dream and the main reason he continued competing. BoomBoys did not lift the Aegis, but their fourth-place finish was his deepest TI run since 2021.

His relationship with Gpk remained especially important. Gpk consumes resources and becomes another carry; Save- creates the information and movement that allow him to do it. When BetBoom look organized, Save- is usually the player connecting all five heroes.

Playstyle and Reputation

Save- is an intelligent, mechanically gifted position four who excels on Rubick, Shadow Demon, Hoodwink, Muerta, Windranger, Keeper of the Light, and other playmaking supports.

He is exceptional at turning small pieces of information into kills. A ward, one missing hero, or an exposed lane is often enough for Save- to organize a move. He is also greedy when the game allows it—but unlike many supports, he normally converts that farm into meaningful impact.

Fun Facts

The CIS community sometimes compares his appearance to Sergei Mavrodi. It is obviously just a meme—but once you see the resemblance, you cannot unsee it.
