Chung “Ws” Wei Shen was born on June 25, 2005, in Malaysia. He is a professional offlaner currently playing for Aurora Gaming and is one of the highest-rated players to emerge from the modern Southeast Asian ranked scene.

Ws combines aggressive laning with high farming efficiency. Although still relatively young, he has already represented BOOM Esports, Talon Esports, Vici Gaming, and Aurora Gaming in international competition.

Early Career

Ws began competing professionally in 2021 with Atlantis. He later represented Horizon before joining BOOM Esports in August 2023. These early teams gave him experience in Southeast Asian leagues and qualifiers.

He also represented Malaysia at the 2022 Commonwealth Esports Championships, where the national team won the Dota 2 competition.

Talon Esports

Ws joined Talon Esports in November 2023 and became the team’s regular offlaner. He helped Talon qualify for The International 2024 and later contributed to several competitive international performances during the 2025 season, including third place at DreamLeague Season 26.

His time with Talon established him as more than a highly ranked pub player. Ws demonstrated that his mechanical skill and farming efficiency could translate into structured professional matches.

Vici Gaming and Aurora Gaming

After leaving Talon, Ws joined Vici Gaming in October 2025. His time with the Chinese organization lasted several months before he moved to Aurora Gaming in January 2026 alongside kaori.

The updated Aurora roster won FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 and reached three major Grand Finals during the first half of 2026. Ws’s ability to play both aggressive initiators and farm-dependent offlaners added flexibility to the team’s drafting.

Playstyle and Reputation

Ws is an impact-oriented offlaner who is comfortable taking significant farm when the composition requires it. His most played professional heroes include Mars, Timbersaw, Centaur Warrunner, Doom, Beastmaster, Brewmaster, Enigma, and Slardar.

He is particularly effective on heroes that can dominate lanes and remain relevant as secondary cores. His playstyle often gives Aurora a third scaling threat behind Nightfall and Mikoto.

Fun Facts

Ws reached 14,000 MMR in July 2024 and became the first Dota 2 player to reach 15,000 MMR in August of the same year. He later reached 16,000 MMR in February 2025.

He previously competed under names including Shenorita and CwShen.
