Pure

Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko was born on February 6, 2004, in Russia. He is a professional Dota 2 carry currently playing for 1w Team. Pure has established himself as one of the leading Eastern European carry players of his generation through aggressive decision-making, strong farming efficiency, and the ability to take over difficult games.

Early Career

Pure entered professional Dota 2 in late 2021 after reaching 11,000 MMR and earning a place on Virtus.pro despite having limited competitive experience. His mechanical ability and confidence were immediately visible, and the move placed him directly into Tier 1 competition rather than following a lengthy development period in smaller teams.

After leaving Virtus.pro in 2022, Pure joined Entity. He helped the team qualify for The International 2022 and gained international recognition for his carry performances, including an aggressive Pudge game in which he recorded 20 kills against Talon Esports at ESL One Malaysia 2022.

BetBoom Team and Tundra Esports

Pure joined BetBoom Team in December 2022. During his first period with the organization, he played both carry and offlane depending on the roster’s requirements. In early 2024, he joined Tundra Esports on loan and helped the team finish third at The International 2024.

He subsequently returned to BetBoom, winning BLAST Slam I, FISSURE Universe: Episode 4, and PGL Wallachia Season 5. BetBoom also finished fourth at The International 2025. Pure returned to Tundra permanently in October 2025, joining bzm, 33, Ari, and Whitemon.

The lineup won BLAST Slam IV and V, DreamLeague Season 28, and ESL One Birmingham 2026 before Tundra’s Dota 2 division moved to 1w Team on June 1, 2026.

The International 2026

At TI 2026, Iron Wing defeated Nigma Galaxy and Team Yandex during the Swiss stage before sweeping GamerLegion in the elimination round. Their playoff run ended after losses to Team Spirit and BoomBoys, resulting in a 7th–8th-place finish.

Pure remained the roster’s primary scaling core and produced strong performances during the tournament, particularly in the victories over Team Yandex and GamerLegion. The overall result was below the roster’s early-season achievements, but another TI playoff appearance added to Pure’s experience at the highest level.

Playstyle and Reputation

Pure is an aggressive and flexible carry who regularly pushes his heroes close to their mechanical limits. He is comfortable on conventional late-game carries such as Morphling, Terrorblade, Luna, and Faceless Void, but has also been successful on more active heroes including Pudge, Templar Assassin, and Kez.

His strongest qualities are farming recovery, individual execution, and confidence in late-game situations. His aggression can occasionally create unnecessary risk, but it is also one of the reasons he can single-handedly change games from unfavorable positions.

Fun Facts

Pure reached 12,000 MMR in March 2022, became the second recorded player to reach 13,000 MMR in January 2023, and reached 17,000 MMR in October 2025. In the CIS community, he is sometimes called Vaniok, an informal variation of Ivan.
