Games of the Future 2026

Games of the Future 2026 brings sixteen teams to Astana, Kazakhstan, to compete for a $1,000,000 prize pool at the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace from July 31 to August 5.

Organized by Phygital International, the event is part of a broader multidiscipline festival that pairs esports with physical sport, and the Dota 2 tournament stands as one of its headline competitions. It carries no circuit points and sits outside the Major and TI structure, but the seven-figure prize pool and single-city format draw a serious field — and, as in previous editions, a mix of established rosters and less-familiar regional teams capable of disrupting the bracket.

Group Stage (July 31 – August 1): Sixteen teams split into four groups of four, each running a modified GSL bracket. Every series is a Bo3.

The group winner advances straight to the playoff Quarterfinals, 2nd and 3rd drop into the Decider round for a second shot, and the bottom team of each group is out — no round-robin cushion, so a cold start can end your tournament fast.

Playoffs (August 2 – August 5): Single-elimination from here. Every match is a Bo3, with the Grand Final stretched to a Bo5. Win or go home, all the way to the trophy.
