REKONIX is the most surprising Indonesian team story in recent memory. Formed in July 2025 from the Tech Free Gaming core, they went from complete unknowns to two-time tier-1 LAN qualifiers in under twelve months—all five players are Indonesian, with no foreign imports and no shortcuts. Just a group of players who had been grinding the SEA circuit for years, finally in the right place at the right time.

Early Formation & First Steps

REKONIX was built around a core that had been competing together in various forms under the Tech Free Gaming tag before the rebrand. The roster—Jikroy on carry, inYourdreaM in mid, Fbz in the offlane, and dalul and Varizh on supports—combined two generations of Indonesian Dota in one lineup. inYourdreaM was the first SEA player to reach 9,000 MMR back in 2017 and had a DreamLeague title with Tigers on his résumé. FBz had played for Team Secret and Nigma Galaxy in Europe. Varizh had been grinding Indonesian circuits since 2016. And then there was Jikroy, 21 years old, building his career on a new account after his original one was VAC-banned in February 2024. The mix shouldn't have worked on paper. It worked immediately.

Rise and Competitive Breakthrough

EPL World Series Southeast Asia Seasons 7, 8, 9, and 10: Four consecutive titles. The kind of regional dominance that forces tournament organizers to take notice.

20-match win streak (October 2025 – January 2026): The longest run of any SEA team during that period. They weren't grinding soft opposition either—the streak came against the best available regional competition.

ESL One Birmingham 2026: Their first tier-1 LAN appearance. They held their own in a field that included established international teams. Nobody embarrassed them.

DreamLeague Season 29: Their second straight tier-1 qualification, confirming that Birmingham wasn't a fluke.

Playstyle and Reputation

REKONIX plays coordinated, disciplined team Dota—the kind that comes from players who have known each other's tendencies for years before the org even existed. Fbz brings European-level structural understanding to the offlane after his stints at Secret and Nigma. InYourDream runs mid with a tempo that the SEA scene recognized as elite a decade ago and that hasn't faded. Varizh anchors the vision game with the quiet authority of someone who has seen every situation this region can produce. When MinD_ContRoL joined as coach on trial in April 2026—a TI11 champion and one of the most decorated players in the game's history—it sent a clear signal about where the org believes this team can go.

Fun Facts

All five players are Indonesian. In a competitive scene that increasingly relies on international rosters to reach tier 1, REKONIX did it the hard way—with five players from the same country who came up through the same regional ecosystem.
